Re: Bug Report: DLP Policy Issues after Upgrading DLP Extension

This is not as designed, there is a defect in development to fix this.  Please open a ticket with DLP so you can get the fix as soon as it is ready.

Re: Bug Report: DLP Policy Issues after Upgrading DLP Extension

Hi Steve,

It turns out that the bz that I was told about isn't exactly for this issue, for which I apologize in the info given.  Here is what I understand on this and why they said it was as designed.  However, I have recommended that a BZ should be opened because in my opinion, an extension upgrade shouldn't change settings that are already in place or leave a plugin there.

For the "as designed" piece.....

11.0.400 fixed several issues with Device control only - Chrome, API's, IE, and  clipboard protect (all supposed to be dormant in DC only).  The version you came from keeps that setting - the setting issue is not there if the license is indeed device control.
The full license, when changed to the radio button of device control will have those checked. Just doing nothing with them. DC only - that check box isn't there.... FULL LICENSE with the radio button DC Only will have the checks - just no activation of the Web protect on the client side.
So why would it have changed when you upgraded?  Did the upgrade change some default settings or something?  Answer - Yes, exactly -  a "feature" was added in 11.0.200
The reason why is due to Microsoft adding an API call from browser directly to USB. The hook had to be turned on under that full license.

Re: Bug Report: DLP Policy Issues after Upgrading DLP Extension

Thanks for the info.  Is 11.0.4 still available as its not listed on the downloads? (other than the Mac client).   We need to upgrade to at least 11.0.4 for In place Windows 10 upgrades.  11.0.5 isnt workable for us with the delays this issue causes.  Cant believe that wont be fixed? or some workaround to disable the plugin.

Re: Bug Report: DLP Policy Issues after Upgrading DLP Extension

I will have your case owner send you a copy of 11.0.400.  We never said this wouldn't be fixed.  The plugin issue does need resolved and I have asked your case owner to open a defect for it.

Re: Bug Report: DLP Policy Issues after Upgrading DLP Extension

Hi - after installing the latest Patch (6) DLP was still defaulting to enabling the IA plugin.  To disable this we had to edit the Operational Mode / Modules settings for IE in (DLP Policy \ Windows Client Config \ our policy).

Remove the tick from the browsers section.  We had to take DLP out of Device Control only Mode, then disable it, then re enable Device Control Only mode.  Then after next EPO checkin in, the IE plugin was sorted.
