Automatic Response Performance Question

Jump to solution

When creating an Automatic Response for Client or Threat events, and filtering for a specific event ID, does it go through all events in the DB every time it runs or does it only review new events?  Should a time filter be added to the Automatic response so it's only reviewing events within a day or hour?  I'm trying to understand the logic so we can avoid any performance impact later down the road.

Thanks

Any time a new event is parsed into the database, it is evaluated against the automatic response rules.  So it isn't something that can look at past events, it is only evaluated as the event comes in once.

Hi msmiley,

The AR responds when the conditions of an automatic response rule are met. You specify the actions that make up the response, and the type and number of events that must meet the condition to trigger the response. It will not review the event which are already been triggered.
