i want to ask, is there anyway that cloned VM's get new agent GUID ? because we have a schedule task for drill down activities that includes replicates systems from DC to DRC, and as we know there's problem about the mcafee agent GUID duplicates,
so basically we have to resetting GUID's one by one each of the vm that we have replicates ?
is there no other way to simplified this step ?
because thats like adding more extra step, (beforehand we deleted the agent GUID for vm template) than we deploy many of it, after that we have task to do some drill down replicates to DRC, so we have to do all over again resetting the GUID on every each of the vm?
In epo there are 2 server tasks you can run. You would run the duplicate agent guid remove systems one first - that sends a command to the client to regenerate their agent guid next time they check in. Once that is complete and the systems all check back in, you can run the clear error count one to clear the sequence error counts from them. The problem with that is that when they check back in, you need to make sure they go back where they belong with their assigned policies and tasks.
