Web Advisor not working in Firefox

Jump to solution

Web Advisor shows up on my McAfee control panel as active.

It does not show up in the Firefox Add Ons/Extensions.

I am using Firefox 76.0.1 (64 bit)

Web Advisor stopped showing up in the Extensions about two Firefox updates ago.

How do I get Web Advisor working again in Firefox?

hello,

thanks for the update and that it seems working now.

if you encounter problems again you could try first to click on the WA icon in FF and try to reset in options explained in my previous post.

all the best

Hi @hankone,

We are sorry that WA does not show up in Firefox Add-ins.

Please provide the Operating System of your computer and the McAfee version which is installed, so that we could help you further.

Thanks,

hello,

there is currently a problem with FF76 with addons it seems.

the addon Amazon Shopping Assistant was reported to be not working at Bugzilla with FF76. this will likely also be a problem for other addons.

therefore FF has stopped the rollout currently for version 76 and released a bugfix with version 76.0.1

the rollout of FF will start next week again , but in the meantime you can try download the latest version of FF and see if this solves the problem with the WA addon ?.............

greetings

This morning I got a notification to load Web Advisor on Firefox

I installed the add-on and it shows up in the Extensions of Firefox.

BUT --- it only is showing results for google, wikipedia, and vimeo websites on my search results.  It shows no results at all for any other website.

hello,

maybe you can try the following;

click on the WA icon in FF and select options and in blue below you can click to reset to default settings

close FF and wait a few seconds and restart FF

maybe the issue is solved ?.........

if not you can try a reinstall of WA;

go to the addon settings in FF and disable and remove Webadvisor

uninstall WA in Windows from the Controlpanel in Apps and Features

do a reboot

Reinstall WebAdvisor by following the Article below and then add the extension to the browser. This should fix the issue........

How to download and install McAfee WebAdvisor

hope above suggestions will solve the problem

greetings

Thanks for your help.

I checked the box to "Don't Allow" in the "Run in Private Windows".  This was in the details of the McAfee Extension in Firefox.

Now the Web Advisor seems to be working fine.
