Site with red rating for Breaching Browser Security

Hi all,

Unknowingly I clicked on a link to site, which turned out to be rated as 'red' because McAfee test has shown the site breached browser security.

After a few moments (I think before the page was FULLY loaded), I got automatically redirected by SiteAdvisor to a McAfee warning page. Since I got quite a scare, I did a full scan with McAfee and Spybot S&D, which fortunately gave no positives.

Does this mean I got off the hook safely or is there still a risk that my security has been breached?

I am dreading a full system reformat, but I'll take that over my passwords / bank account data being mis-used any day...

Many thanks in advance for your reply!

Bas.

You should be OK as SiteAdvisor warned you then took you to the information page.

I wouldn't worry.

No problem:D

You may want to run the free version of the following tool, it's better than Spybot: http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Best to be safe than sorry I suppose.

Hi there,

downloaded the program and did a full system scan. Only positive was a tracking cookie. 😄

Thanks for the advice.

Excellent, so you are OK. I'll lock the topic in case anyone decides to chime in.
