Pop up BLUE BLANK INFO BUBBLE freezes Browser, site advisory

Everytime I open a browser, whether it is explorer or firefox, McAfee site advisor pops a large blue information bubble that is blank and freezes the page completely. making it unable to do anything at all. but if i leave that browser up and open another browser i can browse on the new browser but the org browser is still frozen. Have restarted computer several times, still same issue.

I installed McAfee 3 days ago. This is pathetic.

What is your operating system and service pack level?

What is the system specifications such as CPU type and speed and how much RAM does the system have?

If you are using IE8 beta uninstall it as it isn't yet compatible. No matter what browser is your default all McAfee displays rely on IE because they use HTML.

Also make sure that Content Advisor is not turned in under IE Tools/Internet Options/Content.

This will also happen if your Security Zones in IE are set to anything higher than default.

I dont have IE

not correct!

Whether or not you use it, you do have Internet Explorer 7 in Vista. If you ever had IE8 this could cause those symptoms and that should be installed.

Go to Start/Control Panel/Network & Internet/Internet Options > Advanced tab and click the Reset button. Click Apply and OK.

You will now have to open the Programs tab & then Manage Add-ons and re-enable any add-ons you have. Do NOT alter any other settings.

It's important to keep Windows up to date with both critical and non-critical updates, including any that are for IE, whether you use it or not, as many applications rely on it, including all of McAfee's applications not to mnention many of Windows own applications.

Beyond that I suggest Technical Support Chat linked in my signature.
