We were using the e107 software on our site and found that it has some weak permissions and gave hackers the ability to upload these malicious file. We have removed the software and files from our server. Please remove this warning as it is causing us a decrease in hosting signups and sales due to this warning.
Again kindly remove this warring as the files no longer exist on our website and were removed well over 2 months ago. Seems your SiteAdvisor data may not up to date.
Thank you for the quick reply. I first used the 'site owner support link' on the MsAfee pop on yahoo >> http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=ourinternet.us&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8 and Yahoo told me that I needed to contact MsAfee. I tried that form on your sticky Saturday and still no reply besides the automated response. Then I tried the McAfee chat support and they told me I have to own a McAfee product to get support.
Finally I broke down and paid for phone support which is outrageous! But $2.95/min is worth it if I can get this resolved and get McAfee to update there SiteAdvisor data.
The file that was listed was removed along with the entire root dir the file was in 2 months back and still MsAfee has not updated their data. It even says on the warning details page the following >> SiteAdvisor last verified this link: 2008 January
That would be wonderful. I am just concerned there is no real easy way to resolve this in a timely manner. I hope to have some resolve today after spending money talking to paid McAfee support last night as well.
As of now still no resolve or even response besides from you
I spoke with a McAfee level 3 supervisor by the name of Pamela R. and she got info on this for me. She said even though the info is 3 months out of date SiteAdvisor takes up to 4 - 6 weeks to review any disputes about their SiteAdvisor data.
Since SiteAdvisor does not revisits the sites on any sort of timeframe they leave the possibly outdated info about a website up on SiteAdvisor and do not update that info unless a site owner makes a dispute. I even went to SiteAdvisor and rechecked my site and they simply cache the info and do not actually check it again and still show the harmful downloads that do not exists and as I stated have not for months. This means SiteAdvisor gives false out of date info and is not accurate.
It then takes them 4 - 6 weeks to do anything about it once you send a dispute.
Why use SiteAdvisor if they do not keep their data current?
I will repost here the actual time it took to remove the out dated info once it has actually been removed as of now we are going on 3 months.
