Facebook share link issue

Hi,

When I try to share/click a link in FacebookI get this message. "Security Alert: This Link May Not Be Safe". Not sure why I get this one?

Is it related to "91.220.1.76/sys/?mob "  link?

I am not sure what this link mean? How do I detech this link on my website?

Please advice.

Thanks.

Re: Facebook share link issue

Not Site advisor or Mcafee but rather  websense threatseeker cloud malware identification platform used by facebook

Did the alert look like this

Ah caught out seems facebook now teamed with Mcafee. Will ask a SA experienced mod to have a look.

Re: Facebook share link issue

Yes that is a popup from Facebook itself simply alerting you to possible risks.   If you don't already have Siteadvisor as part of your McAfee software package you can download the free version from http://www.siteadvisor.com .

It will alert you about dangerous websites.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. Now how do I fix this issue? It is on the link, I am trying to shar. This website is on a shared hosting space.

Best Regards,

Jag

But many of my friends will be scared of doing this. Any other way of fixing this?

Re: Facebook share link issue

You should all install SiteAdvisor if you don't have it already and, if SiteAdvisor is marking something dangerous when it shouldn't be, then, if you are the site owner, follow the instructions that I have listed in the links here:  https://community.mcafee.com/message/68874#68874

We can't do anything on these forums about it unfortunately.

There's nothing McAfee can do about Facebook-generated warnings either. sorry, that's up to Facebook.

Re: Facebook share link issue

Do you get the warning for only one link, or for many links? SiteAdvisor checks the links in Facebook, so if there's a message about a link it may be unsafe. However, there are such things as False Positives, so I don't guarantee that any such message is always accurate.

What exactly did you mean by the following -

"Is it related to "91.220.1.76/sys/?mob "  link?"

I've no idea what this means or where it comes from. The first part is clearly an IP address. Where did you see it?
