nic port up down collaboration

Hi Heroes,

Does WG-4500D supports nic port up down collaboration?

Not sure if I using the terminology correctly, my actual meaning is under a WG HA topology when the uplink nic port of WG1 is down, can WG-4500D bring the downlink nic port automatically?  by doing so can guarantee the traffic is directed to WG2 appliance. thanks.

Re: nic port up down collaboration

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

VRRP is the protocol used for the health check amongst the pool of participating HA nodes and this is limited to a single subnet. The active director will send one multicast packet to 224.0.0.18 every second via the VRRP interface.  If there is no multicast packet seen within 3 – 4 seconds from the active director, then failover occurs and the node with the second highest priority will become the active director. It informs the other nodes of its “director” or “master” state and takes ownership of VIP.

Regards

Alok Sarda
