get the number of current users

How can I get the number of current users (for example for the past 5 minutes) using a proxy server?

I write all unique users in pdstorage, but I can't find the operator, who reads the total number of elements in pdstorage.

Re: get the number of current users

This is not possible using the normal PDs Properties.

Normally the PDS will be stored in /opt/mwg/plugin/data/bucketmap/content every 10 minutes.

Search for PDS here in the community. I wrote a Perl script to anlyse such file.

Using this script you can dump the PDS and count the entries you like by yourself.

We do it here in the same way.

Frank

It might be run on the mwg, (you need to install at least perl and the module Time::Local). But I dont recommand it.

We run the script on a dedicated linux server. It should also run on cygwin, but i've never tested it... (you need Perl and ssh/scp)

Re: get the number of current users

You could use the "NumberOfCLientConnections" property and write this value to a log file or a block page.

I've actually used this counter in the 'Statistics' web page provided by eelsasser here. :

I use it, however it doesn't show how many users uses mwg at present

Sure. The NumberOfClientConnections does not show the number of users.

There is no way out of the box to get this value
