Youtube API v3 rule set problem

Hi,

I am using MWG 7.6 and try to filtering Youtube access by allowing certain uploader only. I've downloaded Youtube API v3 Category/Uploader/DLP Filters rule set from McAfee Web Gateway Online Tools.

I've created Youtube API Key both for browser and server and I'm using browser key in the rule set. Then I put whitelisted youtube channel in Allowed Youtube Uploaders/Channels list. For testing purpose, others filters were disabled.

When I test to access whitelisted youtube channel (e.g https://www.youtube.com/user/prosoftgroup), it still blocked. From Rule tracing central, I discovered that this rule set only hit Configure Youtube API key, and never reached meta information gathering and filtering rule.

Please advice if there is any configuration I missed. thanks.

Re: Youtube API v3 rule set problem

Hi Ares,

What the URL you see in the rule trace? If you only see https;//www.youtube.com I would wonder if SSL scanner is enabled.

Best Regards,

Jon

Re: Youtube API v3 rule set problem

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your response. Yes I only see https;//www.youtube.com. Unfortunately our policy required SSL scanner must be enabled.

I tried opening youtube video that embedded in uploader website, this time meta information gathering rule is hit but returns error "Unable to fetch result from Youtube - Will Fail Open!"

regards,

ares
