Youtube API v3 rule set does not sync to cloud SaaS

I added the "Youtube API v3 Category/Uploader/DLP Filters" online rule set to my McAfee Web Gateway appliance and tweaked it to our needs. When trying to "Enable in the Cloud" several rules come back with an error displaying "Property 'Ext.Lists.JSON' must not be used in SaaS." The issue is that the rules that won't enable in the cloud are the same rules that actually fetches the video/video lists responses and it's categories. This basically makes this rule set useless for our clients because they all use the SaaS cloud gateways. Is there something I am doing wrong or is this just how this works and I need to stop trying to make it work? I don't want to keep spinning my wheels if this just simply won't work in the cloud SaaS gateway.

Re: Youtube API v3 rule set does not sync to cloud SaaS

The ExtlIst functionality is not available in the cloud. So you cannot use this rule set in the cloud at the moment.

You may want to check with support if there is another option. We need to know what setup exactly is used, so we can check with engineering. Likely an FMR is required.

Andre

Re: Youtube API v3 rule set does not sync to cloud SaaS

Hi Andre, thank you for the quick response. I have attached a few images showing the 3 rules in particular that do not sync to SaaS. Below are their names:

"Fetch API Response for Single Videos"
"Fetch API Response for VideoLists"
"Get Category Name Via Youtube API"

Seems that all other rules will sync to SaaS, but not these 3. Going off the names and looking at the event in which they perform, seems to be the "meat and potatoes" of information needed to properly filter based on video ID's and categories.

How would I go about requesting an "FMR?"

Re: Youtube API v3 rule set does not sync to cloud SaaS

Hi,

yes, these are the rules which use the "ExtList" feature. This is a feature causing the proxy to make an external connection to some different party to fetch information. Since it can have a heavy impact on the overall performance this has not been enabled in the cloud so far. This is true for multiple features (PD Storage, Coaching, ...).

WIthout the external connection to Youtube the rule set does not make sense.

To file a PER you can take a look at the official KB:

Best,
Andre
