Web Reporter Query

Hi,

I am new to Web Reporter and was asked to create a report consisting of the Internet history of a specific username.  How do I accomplish this?

Thanks,

Anthony

Re: Web Reporter Query

Do you have a premium license to use the advanced reports, or only basic reporting which allows quick view reports?

You get 90 day trial of premium reporting, but after that, your reports will only contain 4 results.

Here is some documentation that might help.

Yes, we have a premium license to use the advanced reports.  I will look over the documentation, thanks.

Re: Web Reporter Query

OK, here is the basic process,

1) Go to Reports and either create or edit an Advanced Report.  (Favorite reports are saved Quick View reports)

2) On the query tab of the new/edit report dialog, you will need to add a query.  queries are either tables or charts and are the basic building block of a report.

3.0) On the add/edit query dialog,

3.1) On the Query tab first select the data set (Summary or Detailed) depending on the ammount of detail you require.  It's always best to use Summary Data if you don't need the full URL, exact time, etc.  It would be a waste to use detailed data for a report containing only category and hits,  or site and bytes.  Add the columns to your query by moving them to the right side.

3.2) On the Layout tab you can change a table to graph or vice-versa, but typically you want to set the number of results for the query.

3.3) On the Column properties tab, select the columns and set the sort order.  So if you want to show top hits, select hits and set the order to descending.

3.4) Save your query to the report. Add multiple queries if you want multiple tables and graphs on your report.

4) Back on the add/edit report dialog, go to the filters tab and at least set the default date range.  You can add other default filters if you wish. Filters can be changed at run time, but this is where you set defaults. So you can create a user filter to filter traffic for a single user or multiple users.

Save the report and run it.  Let us know if you have specific questions.
