Web Gateway is blocking download of an application - how do I change the TIE reputation?
My company produces a suite of software that is used by several McAfee Web Gateway customers (Netop Remote Control). Our software is comprised of multiple modules that are downloaded from our FTP site and then installed. Downloading one of the modules (application) is being blocked by Web Gateway 7. The customer sees this message "Blocked based on TIE Reputation".
How can we update the TIE Reputation so this file is no longer blocked? Screen shot of the message received by the customer is attached.
well, this is more an issue for the ePolicy Orchestrator. Your Webgateway just asks the TIE Server about the Reputation and get the corresponding result. So You need to log onto Your ePO, switch to System -> TIE-Reputations and review the Reputations of all seen files. Find the mentioned file and set its reputation to "Known Trusted"
If your application is certified, You also may whitelist reputation by this certificate. If there will be some future changes in the software suite, which results in new file hash values, the new files are also whitelisted by certificate then.
Best regards Marcus
