Web Gateway 7 GUI Interface and JRE 7 Update 17 on Mac OS X 10.8.2

Jump to solution

When I try to log on to Web Gateway 7 GUI via my Mac, using either Safari or Firefox and JRE 7 Update 17, the GUI throws an error, i.e. " java.lang.ClassCastException java.util.HashMap cannot be cast to java.awt.RenderingHints "

Any ideas on why this is happening?

My best guess is that JRE 7 is not supported by Web Gateway 7 GUI.

Any help / advise on fixing is appreciated, because at this moment I cannot access the GUI Interface.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Pete,

unfortunately MAC OS is not supported as an administration system (see product guide).

Have you tried from a windows or Linux machine with JRE 7 Update 17?

Regards

Sven

Hi Sven,

Thanks for your answer,  I've regressed JRE 7 back to JRE 6 on Mac OS X ML.  Web Gateway 7 GUI always worked OK with that, and that has cured the problem.  If I really need to update JRE back to 7 at some point then I can use Windows or Linux in a VM, as you suggest above.

Cheers

Pete.
