Jump to solution

Hello All,

Strangly I am unable to open the web reporter console.

I've restart the services, also the server itself. No results.

I've epo on the server too. I assume that this is not the cause of the issue as they were wroking together OK for quite some time.

No changes made to the server and suddenly I am getthing the following page when I try to open the console:

Hi Sroering,

Thank you for your assistance so far.

Unfortunately, even the reisntall is not resolving the issue.

I had to uninstall and perform a fresh install in order to clear the error.

THank you.

Could you attach the .../reporter/log/server.log  file.

Due to the HTTP 500 error, I would say that the server isn't coming up correctly.

Here it is.

Just to inform you that I am trying to access it from the server itself.

What do you mean be the server is not comming up?

The config file was corrupted, but you should be able to restore it.

  1. Stop/kill the Web Reporter service (java.exe owned by SYSTEM account in task manager)
  2. Move this file to a safe place, (.../reporter/jboss/server/default/data/hypersonic/localDB.script)
  3. Copy .../reporter/conf/backup-auto/backup.xml   to  .../reporter/conf/backup/backup.xml
  4. Start Web Reporter and give it a couple extra minultes to restore your config.

Attach a new server.log if it doesn't work.

Looks like the localDB.script file wasn't removed... Sorry, I should have been more clear. When I said, move it to a safe place, you actually need to remove it from the hypersonic folder. Otherwise Web Reporter will still try to load it (and fail) before it restores your backup.xml.

Ok, I've tried couple of times, but it is not working.

It is creating a new localDB.script , but the same error is still appearing.

Also as ai mentioned I've performed a reisntall, if somethig was corrupted why the resintall did not fix it ...

I assume will need to uninstall it and perform a fresh install.

The error message seems to indicate that it is still loading the old localDB.script file, which means that it must still be in the hypersonic folder.  Web Reporter isn't going to load your backup.xml with a broken localDB.script file.

You can contact support and we can try to assist you directly if you need help.  Otherwise, clearing the old file will fix the problem.  Reinstalling will give you an empty config, but it is sort of using a "big hammer" approach to a relatively simple issue.
