TrustedSource Expanded Lists

Jump to solution

I recently had to create an expanded list to recatagorize Wikipedia as only an Education / Reference site, removing it's Blog / Wiki category. In order to do so I had to create 3 entries for it:

www.wikipedia.com

www.wikipedia.org

en.wikipedia.org

I understand it's more secure to have 3 entries like this, but is it possible to use wildcards (*.wikipedia.*)?

I tried and I am pretty sure it didn't work, I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

You can use wildcards/regexes in lists only.

They are not possible in Extended lists for recategorization. Extended lists cannot contain wildcards.

I did try and was successful with leaving off part of the URL of a site to recategorize. For example:

wikipedia.org

can replace

en.wikipedia.org

www.wikipedia.org

Just a helpful hint!

Correct.

The Extended list will work on the domain level and categorize the sub-hosts.

However, It won't let you do wildcards like:

google.* in order to get google.com, google.ca, google.de, google.cn, etc.
