SFTP

Has anyone gotten SFTP to work via WG7?  If so, what settings are required?

Thanks.

Re: SFTP

Hello,

are you trying to upload/download files to the appliance itself via SFTP or are you trying to send SFTP traffic through the FTP Proxy? Are we talking about a transparent deployment or explicit proxy?

Best,

Andre

Re: SFTP

Sorry for the missing info.

Want to send SFTP via WG7 using a client-side application. (Filezilla, for ex).  Using explicit proxy.

Thanks.

Re: SFTP

Hello,

there is a feature request filed to support FTPS and SFTP in future versions. I think at this point of time this is not yet possible.

Best,

Andre

Andre, or anyone at McAfee in the know,   has anything moved on this feature request since 2011?     I am getting requests for sftp as well, and haven't found a proper incantation for 7.2.0.1 at least to make it work.

Re: SFTP

Hello,

unfortunately it still does not seem to be in the product :-(

I cannot find any hints on when this SFTP and/or FTPS may become available, maybe someone else has a hint. From my side I can only encourage you to file (another) request for SFTP/FTPS support on  the portal for feature requests:

https://mcafee.acceptondemand.com/

Sorry,

Andre

Re: SFTP

SFTP can be supported with the use of Dante SOCKS, under Configuration, File Editor, sockd.conf.  This will allow you to enable port 22 access directly to destination servers.  or by subnet, or allow it wide open (strongly not recommended).  Hopefully that helps.  You will more than likely need to enable sockd be in start up or manually start the process.
