I think this is the reason why we also listen on port 80.

So I would recommend:

8084 - When using SAML (there is no alternative)

8080 - The default port

80 - When no other port is available

The reason I would prefer 8080 over 80 is not a technical reason but it may make things easier because if it obvious that it is proxy traffic on a first sight and may avoid some confusion. Also I remember in the past Internet Explorer had some trouble using port 80 as the proxy port... but I guess that was in IE 6 times, so hopefully it is no longer an issue 🙂

Best,

Andre

Port 8080 should be good. Port 8084 should be used when you want to authenticate via SAML.

Thanks Andre,

how about Port 80. It is just working if configured. Are there any problems when using port 80?

We noticed some problems with public WLANs where only port 80 is allowed.

Cheers
