Hello..
the size of the log folder is 37G
#########################
[root@SRV75-McAfee log]# cd /opt/mwg/log
[root@SRV75-McAfee log]# du -s -h
37G
#########################
so can we increase the size of this folder and change the log file manager settings?
i think they are storing the access log files for 30 days and the log file is reaching 100M each 5 minutes. so i'm sure it is full now..
Hello,
unfortunately you cannot increase the size of the /opt partition easily. I recommend the following approach:
- Connect with a tool such as WinSCP (www.winscp.com) to the machine
- Download a lot of old log files to a backup location
- Delete the logs from Web Gateway
- Check size with "df -h" again
- You should now have some free space
- Restart Web Gateway
Now you should be able to get into the GUI again.
- Go to the Log File Manager settings
- Check if Auto Pushing and Auto Deletion are enabled
If they are:
We are probably storing too much data locally. We should decrease the amount of logs that is kept locally. We can use Auto Pushing to copy the logs to a remote location, such as an FTP server, a network storage, etc. We should keep the majority of logs there. Once we push logs away from Web Gateway, it is safe to delete them more often and only keep a couple of days.
If the settings are NOT enabled:
We need to setup a push&delete configuration, which means we push away the logs from Web Gateway to a safe location, and delete them from the local storage. If a lot of logs should be kept, this is the best method.
Plese let me know if that helps you.
Best,
Andre

This thread shows how to set up MWG to warn you, in case a partition uses more than 90% of disk space.
Best,
Andre
Many thanks.
your efforts are appreciated..
Hi All, i can not connect to MWG that show errors (see attach). Could you help me? Thanks!
Any ideas for this? how to backup policies and rules from command line? Thanks!
I can't tell what the problem is, but it looks similar to when you clone a VM to another instance.
Is this on Vmware? and did you recently move or copy it to a new location?
This creates a .backup file from the command line:
/opt/mwg/bin/mwg-coordinator -B file:in=ACTIVE,out=/opt/mwg/storage/backup_cache/default/mwg.backup
No, this is on Appliance that working well. I did not change anything, just login and see errors. Thanks!
Can you send the complete output? I am not sure if the yellow warnings cause the error. Is there something in red below or something that sounds more like a hard error, instead of a warning?
Best,
Andre
