Permitting url in Webgateway

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

When i permit url i follow steps below

McAfee Webgateway, go to “Policy”.

Under the “Lists” tab, browse to “Extended List Element”,
and expand to “Default”.

Then i add url under category 1

as below say httpss://xyz.com/abc/123

when i do this and test i am still unable to access the website.

But when i add  xyz.com then i am able to access the website.

If someone can please explain me difference between two ?

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike,

For SSL connections, there is really two transactions. One to establish the SSL tunnel, and all the requests inside the tunnel.

The URL for the tunnel is https://xyz.com

The URL inside the tunnel is https://xyz.com/abc123

This is talked about in more detail here:

Best Regards,

Jon
