Need Sample how to configure rule set and policies with NTLM authentication

Dear All,

Can anyone share some information for how to setup rule set along with policies and authentication through NTLM. my internet is working fine through the proxies but my rules set are not... i am really confused with this version of web washer... earlier version was simple... this is complicated. so please share some info with me....

Hi,

Create an NTLM Authentication Method - Policy | Settings | Authentication

Add a rule to Authenticate - Rule Criteria - Authentication.Authenticate<NTLM> equals false - Action - Authenticate

I only allow domain users so I have a rule to block unathorised access, Allowed User Groups is a list containg "Domain Users"

Rule Criteria - Authentication.Attributes - none in list - Allowed User Groups - Action - Block

hi,

i have created this rule. how should i assign policy based on IP, Username or groups.

the way we create it in webwasher 6.8

Were should i mention the IP range. so that i can apply the policies on that,.

If you look at page 28 of this document:

https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-1853

There is a simple example of how to map an IP address to a set of categories.

It uses a single IP address, but in the case of a subnet, you would use the condition:

    Client.IP is in range "192.168.2.0/24"

Or, use a IPRange List to put multiple IP ranges in:

    Client.IP is in range list ""IP Subnets"

where IP Subnets includes entries like:

    10.0.0.0/8

    172.16.0.0/12

    192.168.2.0/24

    192.168.3.1-192.168.3.10

hi,

can anyone help me to setup policies i am really not able to configure my appliance. i was good with previous version but this one is really not getting into my head...

my concerns are:

i am not able to map my old policy to the new policy. although my internet is working but i am not able to apply the imported policies.

i have added the groups for NTLM Authentication

I have added the IP arange as well

if i add something is global whitelist it doesnot work...

if i create a rule in catergory content filtering i am not able to access internet untill i move it to the bottom.

request you please send me some document which can be easier to understand and configure the appliance.

Although your previous help and documents have given some valuable information. would appreciate if some more could be shared.

please let me know if you need any further assistance
