MySQL Service/Database

Jump to solution

We're using a MS SQL Server to handle the database for the Web Reporter.  This has been running properly for over six months.  I noticed today that MySQL is still running on the reporter server.  Is it possible to disable or even uninstall MySQL from that server?

If you are using an external DB, then the internal DB is unnecessary.  You can safely stop the service and disable from auto-starting, but you cannot uninstall it.  The space on disk is very small (assuming you havn't imported any data into it), and even if running, uses almost no resources.

Thank you for the insight and the quick response!  That's what I assumed to be the case, but I wanted to ensure there wasn't something I was missing.
