Moving the MWG Appliance

Jump to solution

I am moving an already deployed appliance to a new location.

I've tried editting /etc files in regards to networking, but they don't "stick".

How can I reconfigure the appliance?

Do I need to do a software reinstall?

temporarily change the ip address using

#ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.234

#ip route add default via 192.168.2.1 dev eth0

you might have to ip route delete first if one alrady exists.

This should get you to connect the GUi back to a PC.

Then logon and change them permanently.

(assuming MWG 7)

If you have manual edits in files like /etc/hosts or /etc/resolv.conf, make your changes in the Configuration>File Editor in the GUI.

When you save, the re-integrate with the autogenerated portion of the file.

What if I don’t have access to the GUI because I need to changethe network settings?

I have remote console access only.
