Migration from WebGateway 7.2.x to Webgateway 7.3.2

Jump to solution

Hello out there,

i have to migrate my old hardware based Webgateway Version 7.2 13081 to a Virtual Mashine based version 7.3.2.

Can i simply restore a backup from the old gateway to the new vm based box or is there anything to keep an eye on?

Kind regards

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

You will be able to restore the policy, however the rest of the configuration that is appliance specific (anything under the configuration tab) is tied to the UUID of the hardware from where the backup was taken. Therefore, you'll generally need to manually configure IP, hostname, dns, static routes, central management settings, etc. Do you have extensive customizations to the sections under the configuration tab that would be too much of a hassle to manually reconfigure?

Hi Patrick,

first of all, thanks for the answer.

no, i don't have so much manual configurations under the configuration tab on the old box. That's not the problem.

I only want to make shure, that the backup / restore of our (complex) policy is compatible between the two versions.

thanks again

Andreas
