recently upgrade to latest version of Web Reporter and install in a brand new windows 2008 R2 SP1 server but my reporter service can't start even i manual restart it. it will automatically stop it later. anyone facing the same issue here.
1) Make sure the service is stopped. Either reboot as suggested, or open the task manager and kill any process called java.exe. It should be running under the SYSTEM account.
2) Try to start the service. Check the task manager to see if java.exe comes back. If so, then it is starting, look in the server.log for any errors. If not, then likely the memoryalloc.conf has been set too large or too small. 2048 should be a safe middle value.
C:\Program Files\McAfee\Web Reporter (64-bit)\reporter\conf\memoryalloc.conf
File contents should just be this one line
3) If the service isn't starting and you are not getting errors in the server.log, start the service from a command prompt and look for errors in the console.
C:\Program Files\McAfee\Web Reporter (64-bit)\reporter\jboss\bin\run.bat
