After upgrading to 7.7.0.x we experienced several instances of mwg-core growing to >4GB and hight CPU usage, the MWG did not process requests then anymore. Restarting the mwg-core process fixed the issue, but it
reappeared after a1-2days. Anybody else had this problem?
We downgraded to 7.6 to solve it.
if you don't like to send a feedback to MC - you can try to find the rule which creates such high load by yourself.
You have to define a Top Level Rule Set called stop cycle with a single stop cycle rule.
Place it at the end. Now move it in the policy one step higher. Watch your CPU load.
Nothing changes... move it again one step higher. Repeat this until the load does not increase any more.
Now you have the ruleset which is responsible for the high load.
You can repeat this step within this ruleset to find the single rule which creates the load.
Using this we found about 5 misconfigured rules........
Thanks - but the high load is not a real problem, the problem is, that the gateway becomes inresponsive to proxy requests - this does not happen with 7.6.x but with 7.7..
We have the same Problem with 7.7.0.2.0
OK so it seems to be a bug.
Same Problem here! After upgrading to 7.7.0.2 all was fine, than with some load and production traffic the CPU usage went up and the Proxy stopped responding to requests. Ticket has been opened with McAfee.
Please check the release notes of 7.7.0.2 for fixed issue. Update to this version might help in your case.
Resolved issue:
Processing web traffic under HTTP2 on Web Gateway failed or caused an extremely high CPU usage. (1163784)

NO as the problem appears with 7.7.0.2 as well.
Same for our environment. We HAD the issue with 7.7.0.2
We also opened a ticket on 8.11.2016. No cause found till now.
