MWG 7.3 Allow HTTPS on port 8443

Jump to solution

I thought this would be easy but I am missing something getting this working.

We are using MWG 7.l3 in proxy mode using proxy.pac files on the client endpoints.  A client needs to get herer: https://myftp.wilton.com:8443/fcweb/logonForDownloadFiles.do

So we added 8443 as an allowed port under:

Configuration | Proxies | HTTP Proxy | Ports treated as SSL.

Now we have 443, 8443 as entries.  Try to make the connection from the client and get

MWG7Error.jpg

What am I missing here?

Hi John,

This is actually in the rule engine. Look for a rule similar to "ports allowed to connect"  under SSL Scanner > Handle Connect call OR a rule set called Restrict CONNECT ports. A rule engine trace will help if you have trouble locating it.

Fantastic, that was it.

So we can pull 8443 out of the Configuration | Proxies | HTTP Proxy | Ports treated as SSL area?
