MCP agent default policy

We want to test deploying the McAfee agent and MCP agent to Mac O/S that are not connected to our network using JAMF.  If they're successfully installed, and those systems aren't able to connect to our EPO server to obtain the policies for those agents, then is there a "vanilla" web filtering policy applied with the base install of the MCP agent?  Is there a way to create an MCP agent for deployment that includes a filtering policy that we use?

Re: MCP agent default policy

Dear @nashcoop ,

the Answer is "no", there is no default policy. You can load a policy manually if required as described in our Knowledge Base.

Re: MCP agent default policy

I was aware that you could manually load a policy.  With no default policy what happens on the end point if you're unable to manually load a policy on the system?  MCP just fails open and the endpoint can access any website?

Re: MCP agent default policy

And there isn't a way to generate a standalone MCP agent install with a preloaded policy?  Something similar to the ENS package designer?

Re: MCP agent default policy

I'm afraid such an feature is not available for MCP. However i've asked engineering to provide feedback. I'll update this thread once confirmed.

Sergej
