Login successful for user "listUpdate" (127.0.0.1) (Origin: mwg-ui, ID: 1700)

Jump to solution

Hello,

Recently I found two messages in the MWG admin console at a customer.

A search for listUpdate brought these two log messages:

11-feb-2015 11:20:11 CET Login successful for user "listUpdate" (127.0.0.1) (Origin: mwg-ui, ID: 1700)

19-jan-2015 11:54:44 CET Login successful for user "listUpdate" (127.0.0.1) (Origin: mwg-ui, ID: 1700)

I turns out, my own implementation these messages also appear with slightly different times. The implementation seems to be legit.

The user appears undocumented in the manual, knowledgebase, help or search engines.

My questions are:

1. What is the function of this user?

2. Where is the documentation for this feature?

3. Can this user be disabled?

4. Is there a password for this user? If so, can we change it?

5. Why the irregular interval?

6. What is the trigger or schedule to activate this function?

7. Can I influence any behavior of this user and/or its functions?

Does anybody have the same issue and questions?

Any information is welcome.

Hi Roel,

This is used by ePO, it is not configured by default. Essentially you can setup ePO to gather stats from MWG (so ePO can show you pretty dashboard information), and also you can have lists which ePO can update (which will be updated on MWG).

This is configured in two places:

1. Accounts tab

2. Configuration > ePolicy Orchestrator

If a user updates a list in ePO, the list in MWG will be updated immediately.

Best Regards,

Jon
