Java Webstart Application

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm able to download and install the Web Gateway UI as Java-Webstart Download.

First start works fine.

When I tried to open the the second time, the message appears "Application could not be startet".

Details: "Server returned HTTP Response Code: 401 for URL: ....."

At the moment I got the Workaround to delete or disable the temporäry Internetfiles (Java Control Panel --> Gerneral Settings).

Does anyone know a solutions without this workaround? I want to keep this Settings and it' annoying to delete the files every time.

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

The issue has started after update to JREu211 (Java 211)

It seems Oracle has introduced a bug into the update/caching mechanism regarding "Temporary Internet Files".

Workaround:-

1) Go to Windows Control Panel -> Java -> General -> [Temporary Internet Files] View...
2) Locate the latest entry "McAfee Web Gateway" which represents your last attempt to access the MWG UI.
3) Right click the entry and click "Delete".
4) Go to the MWG UI login site and click the link "Web Gateway UI as Java-Webstart Download". The MWG UI application will be downloaded and launched correctly.

After you have quit the application/logged out, you need to repeat above steps to launch it again, otherwise you get a 401 or 503 error as you see.

This needs to be addressed from Oracle end.

@Daniel_D

We haven't seen that error, but can you provide the settings under Configuration -> <appliance> -> User Interface -> Login Page Options

If you don't allow multiple logins per login-name that might cause a 401 if the logout isn't completed in time (just guessing)

Thanks for the reply.

Now I know that's not a problem about any internal settings.

Hope Oracle will fix it soon.
