Is there a way to retrieve the UUID from the backup file ?

To restore a backup file on a replaced appliance in central management, as per https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-5207 It is very important to have a record of the old UUID in case the appliance gets damaged or you are otherwise unable to obtain the UUID in the future.

What if this is the case ? Is there a way to retrieve the UUID from the available backup file ?

Hi,

we use

     /usr/bin/mwg-info uuid

to retrieve the UUID each time we copy the backup file.

Kind regards,

Robert

You can use Policy Viewer to open the .backup file and then under Configuration, selecting the appliance name will display the UUID.
