How unmanaged user redirect traffic to Web gateway server for filtering URL

Hi There,

Currently, we have Web Gateway server virtualization, all user PC/Laptop in the network point to Web Gateway for filtering URL. However, if the user outside company connect company's wifi. How could we control and filter URL of that people's device?

We are using Web protection suite product.

this info will not answer all open questions but maybe helps a little bit to understand.

In general, MWG does not care about where the traffic is coming from and this is customers network configuration.

So you can just take and route all Wifi traffic to MWG and it will be processed and scanned as traffic coming from notebooks etc. (unless you have special filtering rules that block traffic based on specific parameters).

If we speak about guests in the company using the Wifi, a problem could be that they are not authenticated as they are not in the domain and could therefore be blocked or authentication could fail. In this case you can think about creating a bypass rule set based on Wifi IP range for authentication only.

At the end, it is all depending on what you exactly want to do with this traffic.
