How to limit user sessions

Jump to solution

Hello Guys

I know there should be a way but couldn`t find it myself. The idea is to limit a single user to not open more than 100 sessions.

So if a bot infects the PC and tries to open 1000s of different connections that should ideally throttle it down.

I was wondering if someone could help.

Many thanks!

Hi!,

There is a property called Client.NumberOfConnections.

You can create a rule like:

-Criteria: Client.NumberOfConnections greater than 100

-Action: Block

If you have clients behind a firewall (with NAT), you may not want to limit connections in situations like that. If all clients are talking directly to the MWG (no NATing), then this should work just fine.

Best Regards,

Jon
