How to allow http method DELETE

Jump to solution

Dear all

May be the solution is sitting just in front of my nose however I'm unable to recognize it ...

From the access.log:

[31/Aug/2015:15:20:18 +0200] "" x.x.x.x 405 "DELETE https://<URL> HTTP/1.1" "" "-" "text/html" 834 "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/6.0)" "" "0"

How to allow the method DELETE?

Regards, Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Login to the apache/iis server that is rejecting the DELETE command, and configure it to allow DELETEs

MWG wouldnt block a command unless you told it to (i.e. Command.Name equals DELETE).

The 405 is probably coming from the web server, not MWG.

Best Regards,

Jon

Sure, thank you for that hint. To be clear it was not the webserver which denied that DELETE command but the web application firewall which is sitting in front of it. So I totally forgot about that

However it is usefull to know that mwg does not care about the http methods unless I tell it to do so.
