Configuring MWG for Google translate?

Does anyone know whether it is possible to configure the McAfee web filter to accurately categorise/filter sites that have been obfuscated (e.g. put through Google Translate)?

If so how can this be done?

Re: Configuring MWG for Google translate?

First, recategorize translate.google.com/translate to to the Text Translator category in the Extended List.

Then it should just work.

Re: Configuring MWG for Google translate?

Recategorize translate.google.com/translate to  the Text Translator category in the Extended List isn't working for me because Google Translate is also using translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c

This link is categorized as Anonymizing Utilities

If we recategorize translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c to the Text Translator category the embedded webpage is not categorized anymore

How can we remove the Anonymizing Utilities category and keep the Pornography categorie (in case of translating www.playboy.com)

example of link:

URL: https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&rurl=translate.google.com&...

URL Categories: Anonymizing Utilities, Pornography, Text Translators

I have these in my extended list:

And this in my URL Filtering settings:

And when i go to your link, it does a 302 redirect to:

Location:"https://translate.google.com/translate?depth=1&hl=en&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=nl&tl=en&u=http://..."

and gets a blocked page:

Re: Configuring MWG for Google translate?

Thanks. This is working after removing the application Google Translate from the policy.

Now we have a similar issue for allowing download from docs.google.com

URL: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.standaard.be/extra/pdf/bgc_080_2011.pdf&embedded=true

URL Categories: Personal Network Storage, Interactive Web Applications

Reputation: Minimal Risk

Media Type:

URL was blocked due to a GTI Reputation and Categorization lookup result: true

URL was blocked due to a dynamic content classification result: false

In the extended list we added docs.google.com/viewer as "Media Downloads" but for some reason it is still blocked because is also connects to docs.google.com and this is and should be Personal Network Storage

Re: Configuring MWG for Google translate?

you have to move this rule upper than GTI check and do modify on Action as stop rule set.

Re: Configuring MWG for Google translate?

Sorry for digging this, but it seems that many sites from google translate have been localized.

For instance:

http://google.nl/translate is sometimes categorized as Anonymizing Utilities, sometimes as Search Engine, sometimes as Text translator...

We have the same issue with other extensions .de, .es, etc.

Adding google.*/translate seems too generic and too dangerous.

How can we make sure the recategorization will be working properly without adding all possible extensions?
