Configure Web Gateway to send email as an event

Jump to solution

Hi Everyone,

I have MWG 7.1.0.2.0 and am trying to configure it to send an email as an event when a particular blocking rule has been triggered.

Within my rule I configured the event with "Email.Send (Recipient, Subject, Body)" using the default template

mwg.JPG

I then configured the default template to use our internal SMTP server on port 25.  Our SMTP server is indeed listining on port 25 and there is no security set up on it.

It seems like this should be simple enough to set up but when I generate traffic that should trigger the email event I get nothing.

Have I missed anything?

Re: Configure Web Gateway to send email as an event

I have another question...

I've now got an event successfully sending an email when a block rule is hit and I would like to customize the body contents.  Is it possible to do this through the event property "Email.Send"?  I can modify the parameters to show one property for the email Title and one property for the body.

I would like to have more details in the body of the email such as date/time stamp, URL category etc.

Thanks in advance!
