When testing, from client (with Auto Config settings, no Proxy set), I can get to the WPAD file in browser by accessing http://<PROXY-IP>:4713/wpad.dat. However, when trying http://<PROXY-IP>/wpad.dat I'm getting a message: "A temporary error is preventing access to the website."
From Proxy CLI I tested using CURL http://<PROXY-IP>/wpad.dat and that works
I enabled a capture and reproduced the test from the browser. I see the request from CLient coming to the <PROXY-IP>, TCP handshake established, GET /wpad.dat, and then a 502 cannotconnect response from PROXY IP. HTTP 502 indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response from the upstream server. I also run a tcpdump over port 4713 and reproduced the test in the browser and I don't see any packets captures
So it seems that while testing locally on the WebGateway I can get to the file, but not from when request is coming from Client side.
Is there a need for additional Rules to be created in the Policy for traffic landing on port 80, in order for client request to trigger the Port Forwarding Rule? What other troubleshooting captures/debugs can be performed to narrow down where the issue is
