Change Windows Security PopUp Windows if NTLM authentication fails.

We user WebGateway 7.2.0.7.

In case of NTLM authentication fails then client receives a Windows Security PopUp asking to enter Username and Password. (windows 7)

We have now the requirement to add a little explaining text and to change the icon in the pop up windows.

I don't find any configuration possibility on the proxy to solve this request.

We saw this in our old BlueCoat proxy environement..

Must this be configured in Windows 7 itself. Maybe rolled out by GPO?

Thanks in advance

Frank

Re: Change Windows Security PopUp Windows if NTLM authentication fails.

Hi Frank,

in the auth setting, there is an entry called proxy realm, where you enter a bit of text (not too much though). This might be what youre looking for.

best,

Michael

Re: Change Windows Security PopUp Windows if NTLM authentication fails.

Hi Frank,

there is not too much we can do about those popups, as they are generated by the OS. When you say you "saw this" at BlueCoat, is it possible that this is simply the "Realm" which can also be configured on MWG? It looks like this (Firefox):

Look at the "Ausgabe der Website" ("Output of the website"). This is a text I entered into the "Realm" of the Authentication setting.

Best,

Andre

Edit: Michael was quicker... but I have a screenshot!
