Category filter problem

I have a web gateway cluster which has 6 nodes with version 7.3.0.2.0 (14242).

I blocked games web sites via category rule (screenshot below)

But that rule block some sites not categorized as "Games", so i have to add exceptions for those sites. (Block page screenshot below)

I have disabled reverse lookup at web gateway as mentioned in other discussions.

Anyone know the solution ?

Re: Category filter problem

Hi!

The solution is always to submit the uncategorized url to trustedsource.org.

In this case it is the reverse lookup which is determining the category.

See here: http://www.trustedsource.org/en/feedback/url?action=checksingle&product=14-ts&url=46.4.70.30

Re: Category filter problem

OK disabling reverse lookup maybe a solution. But there are differences at trustedsource.org. Which option that web gateway uses?

Resident appliance query :

Cloud appliance query :

Re: Category filter problem

Hi Tom,

The resident database is a smaller database, that is delivered to customers via updates.

The cloud is a database on McAfee servers that contains ALL categorized domains/IPs. The resident database is a subset of the cloud database.

The idea is that if it does not exist in the resident database, then perform a cloud lookup.

That is why you see a discrepency.

Best,

Jon
