Cannot understand why the Authenticate and Authorize rule set is missing?

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am setting up McAfee WebGateway 7.2 for the first time, spent a long time reading through manuals before diving in to the settings and fallen at the first hurdle!

I want to configure the gateway so that it will authenticate users using NTLM.

It says in the manual that I should configure the the Authenticate and Authorise rule set, which wasn't there under the default rules

Its not there when trying to add it as a Rule Set Library either, and finally it does not seem to even be available from webset where you can download newe rule sets from

I am absolutely lost, flicking between settings for hours.

Got a feeling this is going to total newbie error, hoping someone can spare the time to help!

Thanks

screenshot.PNGYou should import a new ruleset from library - in there is a rule called 'Try Auth'

This is where you can designate which AD groups can go where

Hi,

Name of the rule is Direct Proxy Authentication and Authorization.

Try importing that and it should work fine.

Thanks

*Note* You will also have to add this under your Settings/Authentication settings as well for NTLM.  AND link it back to the Authenticate rule in the Try-Auth ruleset.
