Hello.
I am trying install new fresh ePO5.10 Update4 +.CSR2.6 with external MS SQL Server 2016 Standard SP2 CU10.
CSR still reports Partitioning: Not supported by database.
I can not found any documentation specific about CSR and partitioning.
Any idea where to check SQL partitioning option on SQL side? Based on SQL doc, partitioning should be available in MSSQL2016Std from SP1 by default and CSR should configure partition during DB schema deployment.
thx for any help/idea.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Confirmed to be CSR 2.6 issue in detection SQL supported feature. SR ticket closed as to be solved in next CSR version.
Hi,
Hope you are doing well.
CSR 2.6 only offers partitioning when an Enterprise edition of MS SQL is identified. Support for partitioning in Standard Edition will be added in CSR 2.7
CSR 2.6 not supporting MSQL2016 SE. But CSR 2.7 will supporting MSQL2016 SE as well and this is planned to be released next month.

I can confirm that CSR 2.7 supports SQL 2017 Standard with DB Partitioning.
It's enabled in CSR. I've already done it, and I believe these are the steps...
In CSR go to Report Server Settings. Then click Database. Then click edit.
Click Advanced, then there's an option to partition the database. It should be supposed on all versions MSSQL2016.
Hi,
The partitioning option will be available only on Enterprise edition. Make sure DB server has enough space
Go to Report server Settings - database tab - edit - Advance -- Check whether partition option is available ?

Hi aloksard. DB partitioning is part of SQL2016 Standard from SP1. Enterprise edition is not needed anymore.
Tested on SQL2016 Std with SP2 using sample from https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2888/how-to-partition-an-existing-sql-server-table/
Works on SQL side, but ePo reports partitioning is not supported.
Could there be (in CSR) some SQL version check for "Enterprise" when connecting to external DB ?
