Blocking Youtube Channels and Anti-Malware

Jump to solution

Hello friends, I hope you are well.

I come to ask for help.

I configured the blocking of all YouTube channels and released only one.

It's working perfectly.

The only issue is that it was necessary to include the YouTube URL in the Whitelist.

A URL has been inserted into the rule highlighted in green.

Shouldn't the bypass occur in the rule highlighted in red?

Thank You.

Hi,

Can you ping me separately  your license ID of the license being used in MWG or your grant no?

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

So you were facing issue wherein youtube videos were not loading at all? It only worked after adding it to GAM whitelist?

Below is an recent thing wherein streaming was not working because MWG license does not have GAM feature.

When license did not have GAM feature which caused streaming errors when the connections ran into media streaming scanner rule as this wanted to call GAM but GAM was not there.

Because GAM is the only AV engine that support stream scanning. Instead of trying to enable AV stream scanning in the policy, while you don't have that option (because of license), we can avoid that and So bypass instead of starting a stream scanner that you dont have is one option here.

Rule named Start Media Stream Scanner on Streaming Media and Skip Anti-Malware Scanning should be disabled and check.

In this rule Enable Media Stream Scanner" Event is executed.

So disabling this rule or removing the event should let the streaming happen successfully.

If customer has GAM feature > you MUST use media stream detection rule, otherwise, streams run into normal GAM scanning

If customer does not have GAM feature > you MUST delete/deactivate this Start Media Stream scanner on Streaming media rule as it wants to call the GAM which is not there or else remove Enable Media Stream scanner event.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

We have an anti-malware license (update).

ANTISPAM4.PNG

It was only possible to release Youtube by including the URLs in the list as indicated). This rule is before the rule you commented on.

ANTISPAM3.PNG

If you do not include the URLs in the list, we receive the error message.

ANTISPAM1.PNG

Shouldn't the rule highlighted in red (original post) prevent the error?

Thank You

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

Looking at the database license file  associated with Grant no you provided does not have Gateway Anti Malware feature and thus you are facing the issue what i have mentioned in this forum.
