Block file uploads with WG

Hi Heroes,

WG8.2.7 - We are testing to use WG to block file uploadings and below is how we defined the policy:

Command.Name equals POST or PUT

Url.Path is not in list "login/logout/logoff..etc"

Media.EnsuredTypes is none in list "x-empty"

Generally this rule works but we saw that some websites were blocked because of the URL.path is not covered in the URL.Path exception list. If we use this rule in production we are afraid there will be many potential issues...

Can anyone suggests if there has better approaches?

Our goal is to allow user to access any external websites but block file uploadings.

Re: Block file uploads with WG

Hi @User21257322

in the default rule set we already have a rule to block certain uploads "Media Type Filtering > Upload Media Type". Here you can block mediatype you consider as problematic. This rule set should work for most common use case scenarios.
