AV-Engine update fails in Webwasher 6.8.3

Hello there,

it is now a couple days that the Webwasher has issues with updating it's AV-Engine:

Anti Virus EngineUpdate Status
McAfee Antivirus - Engine '5400', Rev 5400.1158, DAT Version 5982Update failed! (Wed May 19 13:45:39 2010)
Time of last update:  Wed May 19 13:45:39 2010

[Wed May 19 13:41:58 2010] 200 - Extension list download successful!
[Wed May 19 13:45:39 2010] 501 - new version: 5987-5400, files to download: 1 extraction of archive failed: datfile.tar.gz

Do you have any clue how to resolve this problem? It occured the first time on May 15. when version 5982 was being updated.

I initiated a manual update ('Do it now') and restarted the AV-Engine...

There is still lots of space an the HDD.

Regards,

Webwasher

Re: AV-Engine update fails in Webwasher 6.8.3

Hello Ralf!

This sounds like a case for the Support Team! Sidenote, in 6.8.4+ there have been measures put in place to prevent AV update failures in the form of a more robust update procedure and additional countermeasures.

Re: AV-Engine update fails in Webwasher 6.8.3

Hello,

did your webwasher get his update?

our webwasher had the same issue.

In the error.log there was the following entry:

[26/May/2010:12:29:24 +0200] Exception \'Cannot allocate memory\' when decompressing archives in AV Update

Did you have a look in the error.log? After an restart of the webwasher-csm the update works fine.

Re: AV-Engine update fails in Webwasher 6.8.3

Good morning,

the problem is solved according to another post in the community:

1. Stop WebWasher-csm service

2. delete folders in /conf/antivirus

3. restart Webwasher-csm service

Once done the software will immediately retrieve new updates.

Thanks for the help.

Ralf
