ARP Issue when Enable outbound source IP Override in Proxy HA+Central Management

Jump to solution

For Proxy HA and Join Central Management environment.
It still can using Enable outbound source IP Override (Proxy.OutboundIP(0))?
Because Proxy HA Mode does not have Advanced Outgoing connection settings.

We Try to use Enable outbound source IP Override(172.17.9.254)
( Customer track this IP for split the internet link for o365 traffic )

But the issue is when proxy A down and proxy B is active, network still remember mac address of Proxy A for ip 172.17.9.254 when open o365 website it no responding the o365 traffic still responding to Proxy A. for another website it can access normally because is using different IP (172.17.9.250) for Proxy B .

I try to delete IP Aliases 172.17.9.254 in Proxy B and Re-Adding IP Aliases 172.17.9.254 to Proxy B again 0365 website it can access normally.

In Central Management Environment It Can’t Enable outbound source IP Override(IP) with difference IP for each Proxy because All Proxy is the same policy.

It possible to Enable outbound source IP Override with difference IP for each Proxy for prevent ARP issue?

Detail

Hi,

the policy is shared, but the configuration is not. You should be able to configure the IP alias

172.17.9.254 on machine 1

and some other IP on machine 2. In the policy Outbound.IP[0] is selected, but if you have different lists of IP aliases on machine 1 and machine 2, a different outbound IP is used for both machines. I recommend to not use the same IP address for exactly the reasons you outlined.

It working !!!

1.config Advanced Outgoing connection settings IP in Proxy (WCCP)

Proxy A : 172.17.9.250

Proxy B 172.17.9.251

after config complete swap to Proxy HA mode and save.

2.Config IP IP Aliases in Interface

Proxy A : 172.17.9.250

Proxy B 172.17.9.251

3.Config Policy

Source = any

Destination = o365

Action = outbound source IP Override (Proxy.OutboundIP(0))
