802.1x Authentication for Web Gateway 5500

Hi ... Does the McAfee WG 5500 support 802.1x authentication as our policy requires all network access to be only given after that. We are using a self built MS CA generate certificates and a Cisco ACS as our radius server. So qn is 2 parts. how is cert enrollment acheived and can tge device be a 802.1x supplicant.

Re: 802.1x Authentication for Web Gateway 5500

Hello,

I am not sure if I understood the question. From what I understood you connected MWG to a switch port (or similar network device) and MWG has to authenticate via the Radius server before the switch port is passing traffic for MWG?

Best,

Andre

Yes that is correct. I plan to place the WG inline after the core switch. However, the only to manage the web gateway is thru the management port which is via the http? This management port has to go thru a switch that has 802.1x turned on. Possbile?

Re: 802.1x Authentication for Web Gateway 5500

Thank you for the clarification. I don't think that we can do this out of the box. Since the underlying OS is Linux it may be possible that all required packages are available.

For official support you should raise a feature request. See

for details.
