MVM Password reset?

Hey guys,

I unfortunately got locked out of my mcafee vulnerability manager after months of inactivity.. was wondering if there was a way to reset the administrator password without having to reinstall the entire thing again? I understand that one has to enter the faultline database but where to from there? Hope someone can guide me with the steps!

hi hardv,

Depending on which Admin you're talking about?  If it's the regular MVM Admin, then login as FSGlobal/GlobalAdmin to reset it.  If you've forgotten the GlobalAdmin password, then there's an MVM Global Admin Password rest tool that is available from support.  You should open a Service Request and request it:

-  Go to: http://www.mcafee.com/us/about/contact/index.html
-  Non-US customers - select your country from the list of Worldwide Offices.


Alternatively:
Log in to the ServicePortal at: https://mysupport.mcafee.com:

-  If you are a registered user, type your User Id and Password and click OK.
-  If you are not a registered user, click New User and complete the required fields. Your password and login instructions will be emailed to you.
