MVM 7 license usage

Jump to solution

As far as I know when an asset is discovered and vulnerabilities are found on that  the MVM license usage is incremented in one. Under Global Admin view on Manage-Licensing menu you can see a note that says something like an ACTIVE IP Address is that it was discovered at least with one vulnerability in the last 90 days. What happen after 90 days if MVM does not find that IP alive? It is marked as inactive and the license usage is decreased in one? What does mean the option you can find under Manage-Assets-Manage Asset Identification Rules that allows you to define how many days can pass before mark an asset as inactive?

Please check it out:

Hi JR,

Your understanding is correct, and the following KB explains it pretty well:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB59897

Regarding the Asset Activity option you're asking about... it has no impact on licensing - it only affects if the Asset is marked "Active" or "Inactive" in Asset Management and/or for Reporting.

I hope that helps!
