MVM 7.0 Enable Remote Desktop on MVM3000 Appliance

Jump to solution

Is there an ability on the MVM3000 appliances to enable remote desktop function, and if so, is anything listening on the 3389 port?

We need the ability to do route testing from the scanners as there seems to be an issue with our F5 Load Balancers, however the systems are 2 timezones away from us. Additionally we have need to be able to shut down the systems if there are disaster tests for power.

yes..same as you would on any windows 2003 server.

You will have to do the following(google the topics):

1.Enable the remote desktop service

2. Configure the IPSEC policy to allow remote desktop(or disable the IPSEC policy OR use the mcafee provided firewall wizard)

3. edit your security policy to allow your server to be remotely accessible from the network for "the group or individual users" whom will be allowed to access via remote desktop

After installation of MVM Software and Database, you have to run the Network Security Wizard in order to enable Remote Desktop and specify networks from where to connect to.

Good luck.
